Yvonne Murugi

Role: Director of Programs and Organization Development, Peace Ambassadors Kenya.

Bio:
With over seven years of volunteer and professional experience in youth empowerment and community development, Yvonne is deeply committed to driving peace, sustainability, and mental health advocacy in Kenya. She began her journey with Peace Ambassadors Kenya in 2018 as a Chapter Coordinator and has since served in multiple capacities, including Peace Advocacy Officer, Health Outreach Officer, Alumni Coordinator, and Green Print Officer.

Her leadership has seen the successful implementation of impactful initiatives such as tree-planting projects in the Mau Forest, youth mentorship programs, a book drive, and two major awareness walks — a 600km Peace Walk and a 200km Mental Health Walk. Currently serving as the Director of Programs, she oversees national-level projects, working with young people to foster peace, resilience, and sustainable development.

Beyond her role at Peace Ambassadors Kenya, Yvonne also works with an NGO in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), advancing clean water access for underserved communities.
