SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

Target 8.6: Promote Youth Employment, Education, and Training.

Project Description:

The project aims to establish and coordinate Peace Clubs in every institution of higher learning in Kenya to act as a platform to mobilize, organize and engage youth talents, ideas, and skills in peacebuilding, self, and community development activities. All PAK clubs are registered and operate like any other club in a learning institution. They are all governed by a common constitution. In the spirit of democracy and to promote youth leadership, the club members elect their institutional secretariat. The Chairperson for the club serves as the official Institutional Peace Coordinator and the liaison officer between the club and our organization.

Project Activities:

. Forums: organized regularly with local, regional and international leaders and youth chapter members.
. Training: club members have opportunities to attend training hosted by the organization and its partners.
. Conferences: the organization convenes conferences and workshops and lobbies for opportunities for the club members to attend external ones.
. Youth Camps: focusing on building club and individual capacity.
. Team Building: to enhance intra and inter-chapter relationships.
. Internships: the organization lobbies for internship opportunities with partner organizations.
